UV DTF Application Instructions
What Are UV DTF Transfers?
UV DTF (Direct to Film) transfers are pre-printed decals that adhere to hard surfaces without heat. They use UV-cured ink and a special adhesive layer for a durable, professional finish.
Compatible Surfaces
UV DTF transfers work on most hard, smooth surfaces including glass, acrylic, metal, wood, ceramic, plastic, and phone cases. They are NOT recommended for fabric or textured surfaces.
Application Instructions
- Clean the surface — Wipe the surface with isopropyl alcohol (70%+) and let it dry completely. Remove any dust, oils, or residue.
- Peel the backing — Carefully peel the clear transfer film from the white backing paper starting from a corner.
- Position the transfer — Place the sticky side down onto your surface. Take your time — once it touches, it adheres quickly.
- Squeegee or press firmly — Use a credit card or squeegee to press the transfer flat, working from the center outward to remove air bubbles.
- Peel the top film — Slowly peel back the clear top film at a low angle. If the design lifts, press it back down and wait 30 seconds before trying again.
- Done — No heat, no lamination needed. The transfer is ready to use immediately.
Tips for Best Results
- Apply at room temperature (65–80°F)
- Avoid wet or oily surfaces
- Do not stretch or bend the transfer during application
- For curved surfaces, apply in small sections
Durability
UV DTF transfers are waterproof and scratch-resistant when properly applied. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or abrasive cleaning.
